Our famous lemon + dill batter was first served in a shack on the old ferry dock (where it all began in 1989!). CAPE CLEARE FISHERY
We are proud to offer the finest hand-caught fish from Cape Cleare Fishery. Fishery owner Rick Oltman sails to Alaska from Port Townsend every year in his fishing schooner. He catches fish one at a time (the old fashioned way!) with hooks and lines when the fish are at the peak of their vigor. After the fish are carefuly cleaned, they are flash-frozen to -40 degrees in a state-of-the-art blast freezer within one hour of being caught. Oltman says that flash-freezing at sea keeps fish much more fresh than “fresh” fish, which often take up to five days to reach the consumer. We hope you enjoy!
